Where Should This Case be Tried: Court-Martial or Civilian Court?

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chair of the Awami Action Committee in Kashmir, has called for Indian Army personnel currently charged before a court-martial to be tried in civilian court instead in order to improve transparency. "Addressing a public gathering at Shangus in south Kashmir’s Islambad district, Mirwaiz said that countless incidents like Mach[ch]il have occurred in Kashmir during which innocent civilians were killed, adding, however till date not a single army personnel was held responsible or punished for the crime he committed."
