A new circuit bench of the Armed Forces Tribunal has just begun work in Bangalore, according to this account in The Hindu. Background on the AFT:
The Armed Forces Tribunal, to be headed by a retired Supreme Court judge or a Chief Justice of a high court, was formed in 2007 by a new AFT Act to settle a large number of service-related disputes raised by service personnel and to speed up justice. It also handles appeals of court-martial sentences. The Principal Bench is in New Delhi with eight regional Benches, including a second southern one in Chennai for defence personnel of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry.
