Colombian Council of State ruling on soldiers' rights

The Colombian Council of State has recently issued a ruling on the protection of the fundamental rights of the members of the armed forces. The newspaper Semana reports, here, that in the ruling, the State Council ordered the army to expedite the corresponding procedures for the allocation of retirement for any soldier convicted of manufacturing, trafficking in, and illegally possessing weapons and ammunition of the Armed Forces. The ruling of the council comes after a lot of back and forth between the soldier and the military courts.
